Trivets with hearts
It’s Valentines Day!
Today I’m sharing some antique trivets
that incorporate hearts in their design.

Forged Heart ~ hand forged iron, 5 1/4” x 4” w/three 1 1/4” legs ending in penny feet.

“R” ~ brass, 5 5/8 x 3 3/8” w/three tooled legs. On face: R in a heart.

Rimby 12 Hearts ~ cast iron, 13 x 8″ w/four 1 5/8″ legs. Signed W. B. RIMBY BALTIMORE on the handle reverse.

Rimby Oak Tree and Acorn ~ cast iron, 8 x 4 1/8” w/three 1 1/8” legs and sprue mark on reverse. W. R. signature (for William Rimby of Baltimore, MD) on handle reverse.

British Isles R. E. ~ hand cut brass, 8 x 4 3/4″ w/three 1 1/2″ tooled legs. The initials RE are on a decorative slider that attaches over the handle. The heart shaped body features the shamrock, English rose and thistle.

FLT ~ cast iron, 9 1/8 x 4 1/2” w/three 1 3/8” legs. Symbols of IOOF*: all-seeing eye and three linked rings; an eagle and heart. Note the letters S and T at the corners and cut-out letters F L T (friendship, love & truth) in the handle. Gate-mark along edge. * Independent Order of Odd Fellows

Give Your Heart ~ brass, 9 1/2 x 5 1/4″ w/three 7/8″ feet. On face: GIVE YOUR HEART TO GOD NOW. Slight waviness to surface, slight tilt to legs as expected w/age.

Cathedral Horseshoe ~ cast iron, 7 x 3 7/8″ w/three 5/8″ cleated feet and two pronounced gate marks along edge.

Four Hearts ~ hand cut brass, 9 1/8 x 4 5/8″ w/three 5/8″ bolt feet. Legs show through to top surface.

Good Luck Shamrock ~ cast iron, 5 5/8 x 4 3/8″ w/three 7/8″ feet. On face: GOOD LUCK, a double heart & a shamrock.

“T” ~ hand cut brass, 11 5/8 x 6″ w/ three 3/4″ tooled feet. On face: the letter “T” and a double row of dots in decorative punch-work around the heart.

Ribbed Cathedral ~ nickel plated cast iron, 5 1/2 x 1 3/4” w/three feet. (Tuesday’s Children 420).
