Collecting, cleaning, displaying, researching, and appreciating TRIVETS and related go-withs!
Arnie Stein (1942-2021) was a prolific collector and longtime PITCA member whose interest in pressing irons began in 1995. In the intervening years he accumulated over 3,000 irons, trivets and other laundry related collectibles. They were organized and displayed in a museum of his own design that he built in his backyard. The sign by the entryway announced:
ARNIE’S IRON MUSEUM
A historical display of all known antique ironing devices and related items
used in the world dating from the most primitive to the 1950s.
OPEN BY APPOINTMENT
This video, produced by WCCO-CBS Minnesota in 2017, follows Arnie as he tours us through the museum he was so proud of.
Rest in peace, friend and fellow collector Arnie Stein ~ you are missed.
